About Tracy Belcher.

Hi, my name is Tracy, and I am the owner of Pilatay®. I teach classical Pilates out of my studio in Miami, FL.

I was first certified to teach Pilates through Polestar Pilates®, internationally recognized for its therapeutic approach to Pilates.

At Polestar®, I was introduced to Franklin Method®, a system that uses anatomical embodiment and Dynamic Neurocognitive Imagery (DNI) ™, to create lasting change in body and mind, and completed a teaching certification under the method’s founder, Eric Franklin.

Soon after, I became curious about “classical Pilates,” or the original Pilates system as designed by Joseph Pilates. I knew that many teachers and Pilates programs had adapted and altered the exercises and equipment throughout the years, but that there was a community of “purists” who still followed the original approach.

I decided to take my teaching to the next level and pursued a classical Pilates certification from Real Pilates® (by Alycea Ungaro).

I am now a third-generation Pilates teacher, which is Pilates talk basically meaning that my teachers were taught by proteges of Joseph Pilates, himself. This is important to me because the more pure and close to the original Pilates method that my practice got, the more benefits I experienced.

Through the classical Pilates method, I saw how Pilates could help any person, at any age and any ability, achieve their maximum physical potential.

I am now focused on the classical Pilates method.

I teach private lessons on all Pilates apparatuses both in-studio in Miami, and online, and I occasionally teach group classes online.

If you are interested in learning Pilates, or just want to chat, you can contact me at hello@pilatay.com. I would love to hear from you, and I love talking Pilates!

I also teach Franklin Method workshops at movement studios around Miami and online.

My Journey To Pilates

I first found Pilates while working as a busy marketing and communications professional. I held corporate positions for more than 12 years, first designing and implementing strategic communications plans for business-to-business, consumer, and nonprofit clients at a leading national PR agency, and then leading all marketing and communications activities for the expansion and relocation of Miami's flagship art museum to a new world-class facility on Biscayne Bay.

During this time, I maintained a healthy body and sound mind through a dedicated Pilates practice and began training to become a Pilates teacher in 2012. I fell in love with teaching and sharing the benefits of the practice, and began working as a teacher. One certification led to another, one workshop to another, and it wasn't long before my passion for Pilates became my primary focus and commitment.

I now teach Pilates full-time out of a fully-equipped classical Pilates studio in Miami, FL. The studio shares space with the Pilatay shop warehouse and showroom.
