Pilatay - The Studio

In 2022, Pilatay opens a new and expanded Miami, FL-based headquarters that features a fully-equipped classical Pilates studio.

In addition to offering private Pilates lessons to the Miami community, local teachers and students can reserve studio time and equipment for self-practice, photo and video shoots, or virtual workouts.

Pilates teachers can reserve studio time to teach private clients with full autonomy, at an affordable rate.

History

Pilatay® was created in 2013 by Tracy Belcher. Tracy is a classical Pilates instructor, Franklin Method teacher and former marketing and communications professional.

She became curious about the classical Pilates system after becoming certified to teach under a contemporary program that focused on corrective exercise.

She had heard about “classical Pilates,” or the original system taught by Joseph Pilates, but was turned off by the perception of elitism and exclusivity that surrounded the practice. She had also heard, in her contemporary circles, that classical Pilates was outdated and even dangerous.

She decided to find out for herself and pursued a classical teaching certification.

The positive changes that the authentic Pilates system had on her mind and body were immense, and she made it her mission to change the perception of classical Pilates so that more people could experience the life-changing benefits. Pilatay was born.
